“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
Hello, Beautiful Reader ~
Recently, I had a rather harrowing experience with a fellow human being. I’ll spare you the details, but it was quite unpleasant AND it’s happened twice with this same person…
So, what to do in times like these?
First off, after the initial shock of not understanding why anyone would act or treat another person so unfairly or unkindly, you truly must remember not to take their actions personally. There is a saying I know to be true, without question, and this is it:
So in realizing this, you can begin to move from licking your wounds, to understanding that wounds are what’s causing all the unpleasantness. With this tiny shift of perspective, compassion can begin to germinate in your heart. And from that point, I’ll let Marianne Williamson take it from here. This is one of my all time favorite tools for helping rise above low vibrations.
Now, back to not taking things personally. Don Miguel Ruiz has written one of the most important books of our time titled, “The Four Agreements”. It is life changing! I refer to my copy whenever I hit bumps in my journey of life. In his second agreement, he teaches us how to not take anything personally.
So there you have it. Always remember, nothing is ever about you…and that’s a good thing! Keep your focus on being the very best person you can be and let that be your only focus. When other people are unkind, unthoughtful, and just don’t “get” you…just shrug it off…like water off a duck’s back. As long as YOU know who you are and YOU know your heart is kind then what anyone else may or may not think of you does not matter…not one iota!
One last little jewel on all this:
