Hello, Beautiful Reader ~
At some point in our lives, we all experience loss.
Grief is a very strong emotion and when we see others caught in the pangs of grief, our first instinct is to reach out–but what do you say to someone who has just had their heart broken?
Words do not always come easily, but fortunately there are other ways to show you care: A warm hug can work magic, flowers and food symbolize love, concern and nurturing.
And when words fail, there’s always music. Music can soothe a troubled soul, even if only for a few moments.
For me the song, “Long Time Sun” is a beautiful example of how music can ease pain and sorrow.
I first heard it sung (and learned to sing it) at the end of a Kundalini yoga class where it is traditionally sung. I was moved by its beautiful message and wanted to learn more about it. Although used in a yoga practice which has roots in Hinduism, it actually is an old Scottish folk song and is considered to be a Celtic Blessing. What a wonderful blending of worlds!
I dedicate this song to you, beautiful reader, and everyone you’ve ever known that has experienced grief. May it, in some small way, soothe your heart and ease your mind.
With Much Love ~ Angela xoxox
LONG TIME SUN
May the long time sun
Shine upon you,
All love surround you,
And the pure light within you
Guide your way on.
